Welcome one and all to another great episode of Wake The F*ck Up. For those of you new here let me explain a little about what we try to do with this program.
It’s time to Wake The F–k Up! Odd Man and his crew are here to jar you awake and make you think. Our mission is to strip away the politically correct B.S. and give you our honest, mostly unbiased, opinion of the world at large. Our goal isn’t to just point fingers, but to put forth viable ideas for solutions to this country’s problems.
It may not always seem and sound like it, but we‘re on your side, looking out for you and only want to help. Every Sunday night we’ll have a series of topics that we are covering, or a guest and a narrowed topic. Either way, we’ll be getting all up in your head with our viewpoints, and we encourage you to get all up in ours with your own views.
Be warned, though, we have no tolerance for mass-media-derived poppycock. If you come to us with a stance, be intelligent and informed, and we will do the same. Sources should be cited, searched and secured from outlets that don’t get Coke and Pepsi as their ad revenue.
Our main purpose, though, is to provide a different side of things. We’ll give an alternative to the commonplace. We want to inspire you to question the world, not force feed your thoughts. Independent thought, what a concept! Sure, we’d love you to see things our way, but we can’t force you to and we won’t really try. If we did, we’d be no better than the mainstream media.
Now that we got that out of the way….In this episode we pick up where Friday left off about the city and my displeasure with the current way it operates. I was joined by my friends Phil and Joyce who wanted to share in the discussion about their city.
Mismanagement is nothing knew to either city. Theirs being notoriously more corrupt at times than ours. They live in Romulus, which is the town I grew up in for those you keeping score. The city has a long history of mismanagement and corruption that isn’t a big secret, but what seems to be a secret is the resident’s displeasure with that since their council meetings don’t always offer up the opportunity for citizens to voice their opinions.
I’ll say one thing for Wayne, everyone get’s their 3 mins. The only real problem is that more often than not, those 3 minutes often fall on deaf, bored or seemingly condescending ears. Which really doesn’t help anyone, except maybe the council because it makes it seems like they care without really ever having to stand up for the residents.
Anyways, give it a listen and see what you think. We’d love to hear from you about some of the frustrations you have with your own city politics. Feel free to call out hot line at 1 734 743 1697
