So some of you know by now that our subterfuge over the last month about mom was due to her having had a pretty gnarly accident and being in the hospital. She blacked out coming down her stairs and fell the rest of the way.
She fractured her neck and is currently in a HALO recovering slowly. It’s been a pretty scary for all involved, but we’re a bunch of tough eggs and we don’t crack easily. Though it has made me have to put things on hold for awhile in many avenues, but ultimately what is most important is Mom’s recovery.
Which leads me to the title, I am no playing nurse for mom. It’s not just me though, Liz and the boys are helping too. We are in charge of helping her get better, making sure her recovery is as comfortable as possible. My job is to take her where she needs to go and to take care of all her bills for her.
It’s been stressful, but we do it with love. I was against her coming home so soon in the beginning, but the insurance company wasn’t making sure she had what she needed. We can. Between us and the visiting nurse, WE GOT THIS!
