It’s no secret that I am a hopeless romantic. The importance of romance is high with me.
I have been through the ringer a lot with love and relationships, but I refuse to lose hope and to turn my back on love and partnership. That’s me though, I can’t make anyone love me like I love them. Honestly, I wouldn’t want. I want to be loved by them in their way, it makes it feel much more genuine when it’s on their terms.
Learning your partner and relishing them for their own personal zeal is important too. Reading them properly, knowing where their heart is placed makes a world of difference. It’s not always easy, because it seems like it’s always changing….that is because it is.
Often in committed, long term or just monogamous relationships we find ourselves falling into routines too easily and too often. What was once swooning is now a more static and steady thing. We lose the swoon somewhere, that swoon is what makes the importance of romance key.
A relationship thrives off love and romance. Romance is sending flowers to her work, romance is laying next to him with your head on his just just talking about nothing, romance is listening to her about her day or sending him an email to say I am happy to have you in my life. There are a million ways to show your affections towards your lover. None of them are all that difficult and they just take a little extra effort to show this person matters.
Small things have huge meanings. Think about how nice it feels to know you’re missed or loved. Knowing that even is this persons hectic day, you crossed their mind and they wanted you to know. People need to feel desired, it’s important to our personal happiness and our self esteem. Yes it’s important to be secure and have pride yourself, but being shown that we are wanted and desired by our partner makes a world of difference in our collective psyches.
To me love shouldn’t be mundane, it should be an epic tale that could be found on a modern day storybook page. Everyday in some small way, be romantic and show the love and respect you have for one another. It’s a wonderful thing. Remember the greatest lesson you’ll ever learn is to love and simply be loved in return.
Tomorrow, send the person you cherish a txt or email telling them why you love them. Go into detail about the things that make you swoon or smile. Let them know how you effect them. I guarantee it’ll make them smile ear to ear and give them a brighter day.
